Who?

This research project has been made possible by the support of several different individuals and organizations. This page discusses the people involved with this project and who should benefit from its results.

Who is conducting this research?

Researcher: Mitchum Owen is a senior Electronic Media major with a minor in Telecommunications Systems Management and Business Administration at Murray State University. He plans to start graduate school this fall to continue his research into the technical and social aspects of the Internet.

Faculty Advisor: Dr. James Gantt is the Director of the Center for Telecommunications Systems Management at Murray State University. Prior to assuming this position, Dr. Gantt directed R&D in computer science and communications for the US Army for over 30 years.

This project is made possible by a research internship with the Ronald E. Initial results from this project will be presented at the 2006 ITERA (International Telecommunications Education and Research Association) conference in Las Vegas.

Who is participating?

Here are just a few websites that have chosen to participate in this study. (more coming soon...)

Murray Yard Sale (http://www.murrayyardsale.com)

MSU Study Abroad Office (http://www.murraystate.edu/studyabroad)

Rotaract Hub (http://www.murrayrotaracthub.com)

Who will benefit?

Both webmasters and end-users will benefit from this project. By discovering the most popular browser configurations used to access a site, webmasters can develop content that better match the abilities of their visitors' computers. Webmaster's can spend less time accomodating unneeded configurations, and users can enjoy content that is designed to function on their system.
